Sensory Strides

Sensory Strides offers individual one-on-one sessions for participants ages 3 and up in M-NASR’s state-of-the-art Sensory Room, located at the Des Plaines Park District Leisure Center. Our Recreation Therapists will assess each participant’s abilities, interests and needs and will create an engaging program unique to each individual.

We will use our specialized sensory equipment to assist in achieving physical, emotional and social goals, from developing body awareness in the vibroacoustic learning chair to expressing emotions through our sound beams.

In addition, we’ll identify sensory tools that can be used outside of our room that will help participants continue making strides at home, school and work. This program includes weekly, 45-minute visits working one-on-one with our certified staff.
