The Liponi Foundation for Special Recreation
The Liponi Foundation for Special Recreation was formed in 1990 to facilitate participation by children and adults with disabilities in recreation programs. The Foundation was named after the late Sam Liponi, whose family, since 1985, has very generously donated to M-NASR.
The Liponi Foundation for Special Recreation is a not-for-profit, tax exempt Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to provide support to the Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation in its efforts to provide recreational and leisure programs for individuals with disabilities. The Foundation also grants support for other needs of the Association when possible.
Many thanks to the groups and individuals who supported the Liponi Foundation's 2017 Mini Golf Event on August 16:

The Liponi Foundation helps to provide support to M-NASR in many ways. Here are a few examples:
The Foundation works to provide a fleet of wheelchair-accessible vehicles to transport participants to daily activities and events. Without these vehicles, many participants would not be able to attend these events. The Foundation purchases new vehicles with the latest safety equipment so that the most current safety standards are met.
In an effort to assure that participants can attend summer day camps, activities and programs throughout the year, the Foundation works to provide scholarship funds. Without these needed funds, some of the participants would not be able to enjoy any of M-NASR’s special recreation programs or activities.
The Liponi Foundation sponsors two annual special events for M-NASR participants, the End-of-the-Summer Party and the Halloween Dance. These events are totally underwritten by the Foundation, and M-NASR participants look forward to the fun festivities. The Liponi Foundation trustees volunteer at these events
to provide extra helping hands.
Additionally, the Foundation purchases athletic uniforms, recreational equipment and some specialty items as requested by
