Leisure Education

Leisure Education
Leisure Education allows students from M-NASR’s Member Districts to experience new leisure and recreation activities. In this safe environment, students are exposed to a variety of activities which allows them to increase their skill development, strengthen their community integration skills and learn about leisure resources in their communities.

While at M-NASR Leisure Education programs, teacher and classroom staff interaction is in integral part of the positive leisure education experience. This rapport assists in creating a comfortable, positive environment outside the classroom and promotes a transfer in skill sets.

A M-NASR full time staff leads the Leisure Education program, and all staff have had specialized training in working with individuals with special needs.

M-NASR is excited to offer to the community the opportunity to take part in our Sensory Connections Leisure Education Sessions at the Des Plaines Leisure Center. If you are interested in registering for one of our sessions, please click on the link and complete the form.
