Leisure Education

Leisure Education Leisure Education allows students from M-NASR’s Member Districts to experience new leisure and recreation activities. In this safe environment, students are exposed to a variety of activities which allows them to increase their skill development, strengthen their community integration skills and learn about leisure resources in their communities.   While at M-NASR Leisure Education programs, teacher and classroom staff interaction is in integral part of the positive leisure education experience. This rapport assists in creating a comfortable, positive environment outside the classroom and promotes a transfer in skill sets.   A M-NASR full time staff leads the Leisure Education program, and all staff have had specialized training in working with individuals with special needs.   For more information about M-NASR’s Leisure Education programs, please contact Lauren Ruiz at (847) 966-5522 or lruiz@mnasr.org.
